The goal is to increase the rate at which you and your team are able to execute the right ideas. If you can do that, you'll not only catch up (if you're behind) to the competition, but you will eventually surpass. Make sure your objective (direction) is sound and then your only major roadblock is ego. Overcome that and your team will fly.
